Young entrepreneurs do battle in Stone!

A young entrepreneur at last year's trade fair in Stone

Local schools who have entered teams in this year’s Stafford and Stone Young Enterprise programme are holding a trade fair in Market Square on Saturday 3rd March.

The Trade Fair, one of the highlights of the annual Young Enterprise programme, will see Market Square become a hive of activity as each of the companies set up their stands to sell their specially designed and manufactured products or services.

With the farmers’ market also running on the day in the High Street, it will be a busy Saturday in the town centre!

YE teams run and manage their own companies, exactly mirroring a fully-functioning business, with their own board of directors.

All the teams will have their stand up by 9am and will need to impress the judges with their branding, merchandising and selling skills. Selling goes on until around 4pm, when the winners for the day are announced.

A group of entrepreneurs from Alleyne’s High School reached the national finals of the Young Enterprise competition last year with their Versaleaf company. Their product was based on the Japanese art of Furoshiki, where material is knotted together to form various shapes and sizes of bags.
