Thanks to everyone who shared pictures and videos of the Tour of Britain in Stone today, either via email, Facebook or Twitter.
Thank you to Anna West, Cyril Watts, Dennis Bettany, Ian Prescott, Jason Kent, Joshua Cope (A Little Bit of Stone’s resident snapper extraordinaire!), Karen Sunnsea, Matt Lee, Neill Harvey-Smith, Peter Wood, Steve Garner, Tim Garner and Nicholas Carter. You guys are amazing – thanks so much!
First up, Jason Kent snapped the cyclists heading up Mount Road after they’d arrived in Stone via Barlaston and Meaford…
Neill Harvey-Smith was positioned by the level crossings on Mount Road as the cyclists clattered across them (thank goodness the barriers were up!)…
Down Station Road next, near St Dominic’s Social Centre, as Dennis Bettany caught Bradley Wiggins and the rest heading for the town centre…
Nicholas Scott was in Granville Square and captured some of the people waiting to see Wiggo, Cavendish and all – and then snapped the cyclists taking the hard left past Wetherspoon’s (none parked up and popped in for a pint, I’m informed)…
Karen Sunnsea (apologies if that’s not your correct surname Karen – I think it might be your Twitter name!) joined the crowds on Radford Street…
Joshua Cope had arrived early to take a plum position at the traffic island on Radford Street/Christchurch Way and took these great shots. Love the photo of the Christchurch Academy pupils cheering the cyclists on! Josh also got a great video…

There’s a great video HERE by Kieran McKnight taken on Christchurch Way. I can’t embed it into this article but it’s well worth clicking the link and having a watch! Listen to the schoolchildren screaming!!
The cyclists have zipped round the ring road now and have taken another hard left into Lichfield Street, where Cyril Watts took this photo…
Tim Garner snapped them going past his house just up the road…
Steve Garner saw them zoom along Lichfield Road into the first Yodel sprint section of the Stoke/Staffordshire stage…
… before Matt Lee saw them pass the Three Crowns pub as they headed at speed for the A51…
Thanks to Anna West for this video of the cyclists. Blink and you miss ’em! It seems like the team vehicles following them are struggling to keep up!
Finally, Peter Wood was on Sandon bank to see the cyclists head out of Stone and on to Stafford and the rest of the Stage 5 locations…
Thanks again to everyone for getting involved and sharing your photos and videos. A Little Bit of Stone is always at its very best when it’s not just me bashing things out on the site! You can share your news, photos, videos, anything at news@alittlebitofstone.com You can follow A Little Bit of Stone on Twitter and like on Facebook too and get sharing too.
Oh, there’s one more picture! Thanks to Ian Prescott for this great shot of Bradley Wiggins in Mount Road. I’d joked on Twitter and Facebook that there would be 1,000 bonus A Little Bit of Stone points for the best photo of Wiggo in the town today – and I think this is the one!

Ian Prescott
Sorry slight correction that last pick was by Ian Prescott and it was taken on the approach to the crossing on Mount Road. He wasn’t in the lead but I was lucky to pick him out as he passed the spot where I had prefocussed. Apologies for not providing the location when I posted the picture. Honoured to have it used for your Facebook link.
