Plans submitted to demolish Darlaston Inn and create new petrol station and drive-thru restaurant

Following its closure, on the 1st March 2018, a planning application has now been submitted to Stafford Borough Council to demolish the former Darlaston Inn

Darlaston Inn Petrol Station

The application has been submitted in the joint names of Euro Garages Group and Greene King and proposes to demolish the former pub and Wacky Warehouse.

Meaford Drive ThruIn its place, the plans outline a new eight pump petrol station, retail space and a drive-thru restaurant, all of which could create up to 16 full time and 43 part-time jobs for the nearby area.

The proposal states the hours of operation of the drive-thru as 8:00 am until 11:00 pm each day, however, the planning application does indicate a possible 24-hour operating time for both units.

The large car park area to the north of the site will be developed into the petrol station and retail offering whilst the drive-thru will be situated on the southerly area where the current pub sits.

The drive-thru will be a two storey building however due to the nature of the site will appear from street level as a single story.

The lower, former play park area, will be transformed into a picnic area allowing diners to enjoy their food alongside the river.

At this stage, there’s no mention of the tenant for the drive-thru, what would you like to see in there?
