8Ball get the 90s look to a tee for top drama

Ah, the 90s…

Hot on the heels of Happy Mondays’ gangly dancer Bez dropping into Granvilles the other week, the team at Stone’s 8Ball T-Shirts were recently approached to produce shirts for the latest installment of Shane Meadows’ award-winning Channel 4 drama, This Is England ’90.

A spin-off from the 2006 film of the same name, the series takes a retrospective look at the rave culture of the decade. The guys at 8Ball had quite a daunting challenge on their hands – in addition to the tight filming schedule (just 24 hours from the concept to shooting, no mean feat!) they were asked to create two designs for the characters of Flip and Higgy.

Impressed with their results, they were further approached by the production company to help solve a continuity problem, when they were unable to track down duplicates of specialist 90s clothing procured from vintage shops.

Fortunately 8ball were able to save the day and come to the rescue, ensuring 90s authenticity, an integral part of the show’s success!
