Six-year-old Matthew Walker is going to be swimming 60 lengths of Stafford Leisure Centre’s pool in an hour to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
St Dominic’s RC Primary School pupil Matthew – along with mum Anna and dad Jon – are taking part in the Marie Curie Swimathon on 27th April and will be swimming a huge 1.5 kilometres to raise as much money as they can for the charity.
Anna said: “Matthew is quite a little swimmer and he’s raised about £130 so far (which he is super chuffed about!). We’d be delighted if people in Stone could get behind Matthew and sponsor him. We’re hoping to do the 60 lengths in about an hour – although I think Matthew will definitely beat us!”
