  • A 30-year-old man, of Wedgwood Avenue in Stone, was arrested in Common Lane in the town. He was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs. He has been bailed, pending further inquiries, to a date in October
  • Officers also arrested a 23-year-old man at a second property in Wedgwood Avenue, Stone, on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. He has been bailed, pending further inquiries, to a date in October
  • A man and woman, both aged 29, were arrested at an address in Green Close, Blythe Bridge. The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and the woman suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. Both have been bailed, pending further inquiries, to a date in October.

Following the arrests, officers searched all the addresses and recovered a quantity of what is believed to cannabis and cocaine, along with cash and associated equipment, including a drugs press. These items will now be subject to examination.

DI Tony Lungrin, who led the operation, said: “Our commitment to tackling drug dealers, and those who benefit from such crime, is ongoing. Yesterday’s arrests send out a clear message to the communities we serve – Staffordshire Police will not tolerate drug misuse and we will take dealers, and their associates, off the streets.

“We cannot continue this work without the help and support of local people, and the information they provide about crime in their community is imperative. I would ask that the public continue to let us know about such issues so we can take the appropriate action. Together with our partners we will continue to take a tough stance on criminals involved in drugs and related anti-social behaviour.”

Following the arrests, high-visibility patrols by local neighbourhood officers are now being carried out in the relevant areas to reassure local residents.

Anyone with information about drug dealing in their community is encouraged to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 or through independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 111 555, or at www.crimestoppers-uk.org
