Fire service looking for community volunteers

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is looking to recruit 10 volunteers to help support the delivery of community fire safety.

A recruitment event will take place at Stafford fire station on Friday 12th November from 10am to 3pm for people to go along and find out more about the project, which will involve successful recruits helping with home fire risk checks and community events in the Stafford area. People from Stone have been invited to apply.

David Steele, Risk Reduction Manager said: “Following the success of the Newcastle volunteer recruitment, we are rolling the scheme out into the Stafford area. This is a great opportunity for people either looking to volunteer or those who are unemployed and are looking to widen their skills. We would encourage anyone who is interested to give us a call and we can provide more information about the role or further details on the open day.”

For more information about the scheme, call Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service on 08451 22 11 55 and ask to speak to a volunteer co-ordinator or email volunteering@staffordshirefire.gov.uk. Further information can also be found here
