Renishaw relocates to bigger premises in Stone

REN072 - The new home of additive manufaturing

Global engineering company Renishaw’s 3D printing division in Stone has relocated to a larger, state-of-the art site in the town.

The move to the new, 90,000 sq ft facility on Stone Business Park reflects the expansion of the additive manufacturing industry sector (the industrial version of 3D printing) around the world, as well as its commitment to the technology. Renishaw is the UK’s only manufacturer of metal additive manufacturing (AM) systems.

Robin Weston, marketing manager of Renishaw’s Additive Manufacturing Products Division, said: “The new Renishaw site in Stone is about more than just additive manufacturing. It will showcase the company’s industry expertise in fields including industrial metrology, spatial laser measurement and additive manufacturing.

“Our success is based on developing close partnerships with our customers to help them unlock the potential of additive manufacturing, which we see as an end to end process. Our goal is to help our customers understand the full process chain and evaluate how to integrate with conventional technologies.”

Renishaw’s new site in Stone will incorporate one of a network of global additive manufacturing solutions centres, where companies interested in the technology can trial the company’s AM systems and fully evaluate the suitability of additive manufacturing in a dedicated ‘hot cell’, before moving towards system ownership.

Robin added: “The generous new site will also accommodate state-of-the-art training facilities and lecture rooms, as well as a large research and development area to help us keep ahead of industry demands. We want the new site to be a hub for innovative ideas and exciting projects around additive manufacturing.”

The expansion is expected to create 22 new jobs.

Is the new place still on the same business park? I dropped my CV off at the old place and think I might drop it off again at the new place… Would really love to work here!
