In an eventful match at Dudley, the Old Alleynians ended up with a point in a two all draw, which was a fair outcome for both sides. The match was held up for nearly a hour for 3 injuries. A player from each side, including Ryan Fox, had to receive attention to cuts around the eye and Dudley’s Ryan Craig, unfortunately, fell awkwardly and dislocated his shoulder, with play being held up until an ambulance arrived to treat him.
Dudley come close with a good shot deflected over the crossbar and they opened the scoring after 10mins, when the referee spotted a handball by an Adam Pope, Domonic Strevens converted the spot kick. The long delay caused by Craig’s injury seemed to bring the visitors to life, although Matt Burslem first had to tip a shot around the post. The Alleynians equalized following a free kick on the left, swung in dangerously by Jimmy Lee for Danny Heard to flick on with his head into the path of Joe Devaney to glide into the net. Stone then took the lead with another excellent goal. Alex Kay beat his man at speed, again on the left and whipped in a first time cross for Heard to head home at the near post. Before halftime Sports equalized with another cracking goal. A long cross from the right was volleyed first time beyond the far post into the opposite corner by the Dudley’s Chris Rabone, giving Burslem no chance.

The second half followed in a similar end to end pattern, without troubling the scorer. Most notable was a long range effort by Dudley, which looked destined for the far corner, until Burslem managed to fingertip it over the bar and at the other end a cracker from Lee that beat the Sam Jones, in the Dudley goal only to come back of the crossbar. Heard’s follow up also came back of the bar, but he was ruled offside.
Final Score: DUDLEY SPORTS 2 – STONE OLD ALLEYNIANS 2
