Sunday sees the annual Remembrance Parade and Service in Stone and here are all the details.
Sunday 10th November is the date for this year’s Remembrance Parade, together with services of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in Granville Square, and later at the Parish Church of St. Michael and St. Wulfad,
Before the main parade, the customary Service of Remembrance will be held at the Walton War Memorial,
Whitemill Lane, Walton, commencing at 9:50 am and you and/or your organisation are cordially
invited to participate. Persons attending should kindly assemble at the War Memorial by 9:40 am.
The arrangements for the main parade are slightly changed from the previous years:
- 10:15 am – Parade personnel to assemble at the bottom of the High Street
- 10:35 am – Parade to proceed along High Street to the Cenotaph.
- 10:45 am – Presentation of Wreaths in accordance with the Order of Presentation.
Persons laying wreaths (including any not on the Order of Presentation) should kindly report to the Parade Marshal, during the assembly in the High Street, to be briefed on the wreath-laying ceremony. - 11:00 am – Two Minutes Silence and Service of Remembrance.
All ex-military personnel are invited to join the parade, whether a member of an organisation or
not.
