Review – Pull yourselves together, it’s Curtains at the Regent Theatre

https://www.atgtickets.com/shows/curtains/regent-theatre/Curtains is billed as a “Musical Whodunnit”, featuring comedian and radio presenter Jason Manford and on opening night we headed to The Regent Theatre to find out more!

With no idea what to expect from the show, we took our seats as the music began and the curtains raised to reveal the opening scene.

Scene one was set on the opening night of a production of “Robin Hood”, a show that was destined for Broadway. Alas, what should have been a night of celebration turned dark following the murder of the shows leading lady, Jessica Cranshaw.

Following the murder, the theatre is placed on lockdown with the entire cast and crew potential suspects. Lieutenant Cioffi (Jason Manford) is charged with solving the murder but as the Robin Hood production is torn to shreds by critics Cioffi’s love of theatre leads to him also wanting to save the show.

Aside from his comedy, Jason Manford is well known for his love of musicals and this part showcases his talents and he immediately drew in and connected with the audience. He played the part of Lieutenant Cioffi’s brilliantly and genuinely seemed to be loving being on the stage.
