Following their presentation to Stone Town Council recently, the Stone Community Speed Watch team are looking for new volunteers to help make Stone a safer place.
Driving speeds are currently monitored at several locations on busy roads in Stone, Walton and Oulton, but the team want to widen the scope of their activities with extra volunteers to reduce vehicle speeds and make roads safer, particularly for local children.
Councillor Ian Fordham said: ‘Community Speed Watch performs a particularly valuable role here in Stone in helping to keep our children and other residents safe. Volunteering to play a part is a positive way to help our community.”
If you can spare up to an hour every week or two, you can have an impact on excess speed outside your home or in your neighbourhood. The only requirements are you must be over 16 and have undertaken a short Speed Watch Training Session.
