Four local friends have decided to take on the gruelling 10k Tough Mudder challenge in July to help make Stone a safer community for everyone.
Friends Jordan Hammersley, Alex Catchpole, Douglas Black, and Danny Ryan are currently training for the Tough Mudder. With backgrounds in IT and design, the foursome has chosen Stone-based charity AEDdonate to help them raise money for a life-saving AED to be placed on Stone’s Udall Grange estate.
Speaking to A Little Bit of Stone, Jordan told us:
“After losing my own dad to cardiac arrest, we wanted to help increase the chances of survival for anyone facing a similar situation.
It’s shocking to know that 30,000 people die each year from out of hospital Sudden Cardiac Arrest, so anything we can do to bring this number down seems well worthwhile.
With a target of £2185, we hope that the local community will get behind our efforts.”
