Arrests made in Stone as police target Class A drug supply

Two men in their twenties were arrested in Stone on Saturday 28 March as part of ongoing police work targeting the supply of Class A drugs.

Two Staffordshire Police officers in uniform, one facing away wearing a vest marked "POLICE", and the other slightly out of focus in the background beside a patrol car.

Staffordshire Police said officers from the local neighbourhood team stopped a vehicle in the town and recovered drugs and suspected criminal property during a search.

One of the suspects tried to run from officers, but was detained nearby. Both were taken into custody and interviewed.

They have since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “We remain committed to disrupting drug networks and protecting our communities.

Class A drugs are substances considered the most harmful under UK law, and include drugs such as heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, ecstasy and LSD.
