Arrests made in Stone as police target Class A drug supply

Two men in their twenties were arrested in Stone on Saturday 28 March as part of ongoing police work targeting the supply of Class A drugs.

Two Staffordshire Police officers in uniform, one facing away wearing a vest marked "POLICE", and the other slightly out of focus in the background beside a patrol car.

Staffordshire Police said officers from the local neighbourhood team stopped a vehicle in the town and recovered drugs and suspected criminal property during a search.

One of the suspects tried to run from officers, but was detained nearby. Both were taken into custody and interviewed.

They have since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “We remain committed to disrupting drug networks and protecting our communities.

“If you have any information about drug supply or criminal activity, please contact Staffordshire Police via our online reporting form or by calling 101.

“You can also report anonymously to Crimestoppers.”

Class A drugs are substances considered the most harmful under UK law, and include drugs such as heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, ecstasy and LSD.
