Jamie, 20, from Stone, died after an incident on Orme Road in Newcastle-under-Lyme on Friday 4 September.

West Midlands Ambulance Service had been responding to a collision involving a Ford Fiesta driven by Jamie and a parked Audi.

Jamie was found with a serious injury consistent with a stab wound and was later pronounced dead.

The BBC has reported, citing Staffordshire Police, that Jamie died from a single stab wound and that police believe he suffered the injury before getting into the Ford.

Jamie’s family previously described him as a “wonderful son, loving brother and doting uncle”, while Stone SP Cricket Club remembered him as “a talented wicketkeeper and, more importantly, a lovely lad”.

Police are continuing to ask anyone with information who has not already come forward to contact the investigation team through the dedicated Major Incident Public Portal.
