Linel will not leave messy footy pitches in Stone!

Stafford Borough Council has introduced a new football pitch line marking machine to help maintain council managed pitches across the borough.

The battery powered machine, nicknamed Linel, uses SatNav technology to mark out football pitches and is expected to speed up the process for council staff.

According to the council, Linel can complete pitch markings in around 20 minutes and will be used on 16 adult and junior football pitches managed by the local authority across Stafford Borough.

That means local footballers and families may spot Linel in action at Westbridge Park in Stone, as well as on other council managed pitches in the borough.

The council says the new equipment should also free up staff time for other work, including tidying play areas, litter picking and emptying bins.

While the machine has been given a football themed name, the council says its main role is a practical one, helping to keep local pitches marked out for community use.
