Medals have been stolen from the Birchill & Watson Remembrance Sunday window display.
The medals belong to the pharmacy’s driver, Sean, and are a long service medal, a Jubilee medal and a Gulf War campaign medal.
They are obviously of incredible sentimental value.
The display was created by pharmacy assistant Linda Blackburn, who is understandably devastated at what’s happened. She said: “How anyone could be so disgusting is beyond me.”
Staffordshire Police gave this statement: “We received a call at 11.45 am yesterday (13th) following reports of a theft from Birchill and Watson Co Ltd, High Street, Stone.
“Officers attended the scene where it was established that three medals had been stolen from a window display. The medals are described as a long service and good conduct medal, a Queen’s Jubilee medal and a General’s Service Air Ops medal. All are silver in colour.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 243 of 13 November. Alternatively they can contact independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”

Some people are beneath contempt. The personal and sentimental value of these medals to Sean and his family is far more than what the creep is hoping to get for them to buy his ounze of skunk. I hope this turd gets his come-uppance and is made to spend just a week in Afghanistan to get some sort of understanding of the bravery it took to earn them. The culprit would probably defficate himself just thinking about it.

Feel so sorry for Linda, hope whoever did this has a conscience and returns them. I agree with Rob Kenney. Stone is a great place and does not deserve to have things like this happen

Absolutely disgusting, who ever has them do yourself a favour and show some thought by posting them back through the letter box.

Good call Mark – let’s hope they see sense

This ranks as one of the most disgusting and despicable things
I have ever heard of. I know the people of Stone will do all they can to help
reunite Sean with his medals.

Couldn’t agree more Rob. The single most depressing post that’s gone on to the site in the two-plus years I’ve been doing it. Unbelievable
