Sixth form taster day at Alleyne’s Academy

Alleyne's Academy

Alleyne’s Academy is holding a sixth form taster day on Tuesday 15th December to give students a flavour of sixth form life.

As well as being for current Year 11 students at Alleyne’s, the event is also open to students not currently at the school but who are interested in moving there for sixth form.

On the day there will be sample lessons and an opportunity for students to explore the facilities, to meet the sixth form teaching staff and they will be given guidance on courses and opportunities such as Young Enterprise, work experience, sports and enrichment.

The taster day is also open to students not currently at Alleyne’s Academy but who are interested in moving there for the sixth form years.

[box type=”shadow” ]Headteacher Karen Lockett says: “I feel privileged that our school has such a fantastic sixth form and we are extremely proud of the achievements of our senior students. We pride ourselves in offering a wide range of courses to meet students’ needs, led by experienced subject specialists. Alleyne’s Sixth Form provides a friendly but academically challenging learning community. Sixth form students are integral to the smooth running of the school and act as ambassadors for and leaders of our younger students.

“We also ensure that students are well prepared to make a positive contribution to society by broadening their experience through university visits, residentials, cultural experience and colleagues from the world of business, enterprise and education coming in to the school and inspiring our students. Enrichment activities play a large part in sixth form life such as sport, Young Enterprise, charity work, work experience and a wide variety of leadership roles within the school.

“The head and deputy head of sixth form and their dedicated tutors form a specialist team to guide students throughout their time in the sixth form, ably preparing them for their next steps whether that is employment with training or university.”[/box]
