Alleyne’s Academy welcomed older residents into school on Wednesday for its first Christmas community event.

Head of Year 9, Heather Broadist, said the school was delighted with the response.
“Alleyne’s first Christmas community event for the elderly was a great success.
Everyone really enjoyed the bingo and our students performed some lovely Christmas songs. Watch this space for the next community event.”

The school hopes this will be the first of a number of events aimed at building links with older residents in the town. Staff said they were pleased to see people relaxed, chatting and enjoying the setting as the afternoon went on.
Further details about future gatherings will be shared once plans are confirmed.
