Students and staff at Alleyne’s Academy are celebrating today following the publication of the 2015 A Level results.
Performance at the higher grades was particularly impressive, with over 50% of students achieving at least one A*- B grade (or equivalent). The overall pass rate was a very pleasing 99%.
Twenty-eight students achieved two or more grade A*-B (or equivalent) and special congratulations go to:
Chloe Ellerton, who achieved three A*s and one A
Liam Berrisford with two A*s, one A and a B
Kaitlin Austin with one A*, two As and a B
James Foster and Abel Cheetham-Wilkinson, both with two As and one B
Sara Dimmock and Charley Banks, both with one A and two Bs.
Headteacher Karen Lockett said “Congratulations to all of our students; we wish you all the very best for the future.”
Katy Minshull achieved A* in Business and Chemistry and A in Mathematics. She also achieved grade A in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Katy successfully led the Alleyne’s Academy Young Enterprise team to the national finals in London 2014 and is continuing with her passion for business. She will be reading Accounting and Finance at the London School of Economics.
Jamie Stringer achieved an A* grade in Biology, and A grades in both Geography and Chemistry. He is going on to study Geology at Imperial College London. James Chambers begins his Medicine course at Keele University after successfully gaining an A* grade in Biology and two A grades in Chemistry and Psychology. James also completed the EPQ at grade A.
Jonathan Chambers achieved three A grades in Business, ICT and Chemistry. He also completed the EPQ and gained grade A. Jonathan is going on to study ICT at Lancaster.
The school is especially proud of students who followed their choices from the range of BTEC courses that we offer. Daisy Pedley is going on to study at Bournemouth University after achieving a Distinction Star and two Distinctions.
