Alleyne’s pool closed until mid-November

The swimming pool at Alleyne’s Sports Centre in Stone will be closed for at least a fortnight as the broken circulation pipe has caused damage to a filter pump and electrical circuit board.

The pool has been out of action since last Friday when the circulation pump broke down. The borough council says the additional problems will see the pool closed until 13th November at the earliest.

A council spokesman said that any bookings / lessons have been cancelled and that customers who have pre-booked pool activities are being contacted to let them know the position. All other activities on the ‘dry’ side continue as normal, with life-guard training taking place at Stafford Leisure Centre. Customers with Alleyne’s swim pass can use it at Stafford while the pool in Stone is out of action

The spokesman added that Alleyne’s staff will be taking the opportunity to carry out “refresh and redecoration work” at the pool that was planned for later this year.
