Appeal for witnesses after town centre assault

Were you in Stone town centre in the early hours of Saturday 18th June? Police are appealing for information following an unprovoked assault.

At approximately 2.30am on Saturday 18th June a man was assaulted as he sat in a taxi outside the Crown and Anchor pub. The vehicle, a red VW Passat, was also damaged.

An unknown male offender opened the door to the taxi and assaulted the male passenger before kicking the car door. The 31-year-old passenger sustained swelling to his lip after being punched. The offender then left the scene.
