Body found in Stone Canal

This morning the body of a man was discovered in the canal in Stone

The discovery follows reports around 6:15am of a body in the water.

Officers attended then scene and discovered the body of white male in canal off Newcastle Road. At this stage the death is being treated as accidental and the matter has been passed to HM coroners.

The next of kin are being informed and Staffordshire Police are supporting them at this very difficult time.
