Stone High Street will welcome a different collection of vehicles this Saturday, 26 September, as Stone Town Council holds its first Alternative Car Event.
Taking place between 10am and 2pm, the free event will feature custom, tuned, kit and American cars, giving visitors the chance to see vehicles they might not normally encounter on the roads.
The event follows the town’s classic car gathering earlier this year, with Stone Town Council working alongside the Stone Carnival Committee to organise the new display.
Councillor Jill Hood, chairman of the council’s Tourism and Town Promotion Sub-Committee, said the council had been keen to build on the success of the annual classic car event.
She added
“This is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with unique cars that you would not normally come across on the roads!”
The cars will be displayed along Stone High Street and in Market Square, with no admission charge.
High Street road closure
A road closure will be in place on Stone High Street from 7am until 4.30pm on Saturday 26 September.
During this period, only vehicles taking part in the event will be permitted to access the High Street.
Visitors are wellcome to attend the event at any time between 10am and 2pm, so why not make a day of it?
