People and organisations who do great work for Stafford Borough can be honoured in the Community Awards, but time is running out for nominations with the deadline only a few days away.
The awards are now in their second year and aim to recognise the efforts of local people, businesses, schools and other groups that help to improve the area. The launch last year attracted around 50 entries. The awards, run by Stafford Borough Council, are open to all people, groups and organisations operating within the borough with projects that have taken place within the last 12 months.
There are five categories relating to:
- Inspiring Individual (under 18)
- Inspiring Individual (18 and over)
- Action in the Community
- Youth and Education
- Business
Councillor Jeremy Pert, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “These awards celebrate many unsung heroes in our community. Those who go that extra mile to make our area a better place to live, work, and visit and often do it with very little thanks or recognition
“If you know of a person or a group that fits this category then please do not miss the opportunity to put them forward. This way they can be thanked publicly for all they do.”
The closing date for nominations and applications is Friday 14 September with an awards ceremony to be held in November.
