Stone’s Inn Ringers have presented the Donna Louie Trust with a cheque for £1,000 from their annual charity concert.
The concert, which takes place in May/June every year, but takes a while for the profit to be calculated. The team were thrilled to be able to present deserving charity with their cheque.
Team member Paul Mellor said:
“It is always a pleasure to do a concert to benefit an organisation in the local area. The Donna Louise Trust does such fantastic work and we were only too pleased to able to support them again this year”.
The busiest time of year is just about to start for the Inn Ringers, with a range of activities between now and Christmas, with a handbell rally on the 20th October for the Heart of England Handbell Society – a society The Inn Ringers were instrumental in setting up in 2006 – the event will attract handbell teams from the central England area and over 80 handbell ringers will perform at the Meir Heath Village Hall.
The remainder of the year will se the team perform in concerts at St Luke’s Church, Tittensor (24th November), Leek, Blythe Bridge and Nottingham as well as their own annual Christmas concert in December.
The team are always on the look for new recruits and if anyone is interested in joining the team, or just curious and would like to see the team at one of their practice session – members of the public are always welcome. The team practice in St Luke’s Church Hall every Monday night from 7.30 – you can contact The Inn Ringers team secretary (Rowena) on 01782 392621 or by email theinnringers@aol.com
