A little bit of an announcement…

Hi there, it’s Jamie. I’m writing to let you know that – after almost six years – I’m going to be ending my work with A Little Bit of Stone very soon.

Don’t worry, the website and the social media channels will carry on. They’ll be run by Jon Cook – who I’ve run A Little Bit of Stone with for the last six years – and a growing team of volunteers and contributors. Thanks to every single one of them!

If you’d like to get involved, by the way, please do email getinvolved@alittlebitofstone.com

When I started A Little Bit of Stone in August 2010, it was because I loved the town and wanted to shout about the great things that go on here. Six years (and almost 4,000 articles!) later, that love has only deepened and I’m so grateful for the amazing people I’ve met, the wonderful charities and groups I’ve been involved with and the support for what A Little Bit of Stone tries to achieve.

I’d like to say a HUGE thank you for everyone’s support, particularly during our crowdfunding campaign a couple of years ago and to all the local businesses that have supported the site through advertising with us.

I’ve made the big decision now to concentrate on my freelance work in journalism, PR, social media, email marketing and copywriting.

I made the decision over Christmas and over the last few months me and Jon have been working together closely on a handover plan. My final day with A Little Bit of Stone will be Friday 22nd July.

I’m so, so proud of what me and Jon have achieved with A Little Bit of Stone. The site is in very good hands and I know it will continue to go from strength to strength.
