Live piano to accompany silent western 3 Bad Men at Crown Wharf Theatre

Silent cinema will come to Crown Wharf Theatre next Friday when pianist Meg Morley performs a live accompaniment to John Ford’s 1926 western 3 Bad Men.

The screening takes place at 7.30pm on Friday 25 September and forms part of the opening day of this year’s Pocket Film Festival. Tickets cost £6.

Morley is a house pianist for the British Film Institute and has been performing improvised scores for silent films since 2016. She has appeared at international film festivals and recorded original scores for DVD releases, as well as becoming a regular performer at the Pocket Film Festival.

Directed by John Ford, 3 Bad Men was released in 1926 and stars George O’Brien and Olive Borden. The story follows three outlaws who protect a young woman and her fiancé during the violence surrounding a land rush in the Dakotas.

The screening will be held at Crown Wharf Theatre, A Crown Street, Stone, and is scheduled to finish at around 9.30pm.
