A new Stone business is offering cash for unwanted clothing, footwear and textiles from premises on Whitebridge Estate.

Textile Takeback is based at Units 8A and 8, Whitebridge Way, and will be open Monday to Saturday from 10am until 2pm.
The business says the opening hours could be extended in future if there is enough demand for the service.
Customers can take unwanted clothing, footwear and textiles to the premises, with collections also available where required. Cash is paid for items accepted by the business, although Textile Takeback has not provided details of how payments are calculated.
The team behind Textile Takeback is Zander, Eloise, Jamie and Lauren. Zander is from Stone, while the team says its experience in the used clothing trade dates back to 1998, including importing American and Italian vintage clothing.
Explaining the change in focus, Zander said
“We’ve been involved in the used-clothing trade since 1998, importing large volumes of American and Italian vintage. But our focus has changed now and the model is evolving.
“The amount of clothing and footwear going to waste here in the UK is staggering, far more than the market can absorb. Our focus now is stopping these items from reaching landfill and ensuring they find a second user instead.”
Textile Takeback also says it will provide free school uniforms from items available within its stocks.
