Nine men arrested in Stone business burglary investigation

Nine men have been arrested on suspicion of theft offences as part of an investigation into a business burglary in Stone.

Staffordshire Police said the arrests relate to a burglary at a commercial site on Brooms Road in May 2024, where shutters were damaged and a large amount of stock was stolen from a warehouse.

Police were called at around 9pm on Sunday 12 May 2024 after reports of an alarm going off at the premises.

Officers attended and found that a number of shutters had been damaged. Police said suspects used multiple vehicles to take items away from the site.

The force said a significant amount of the stolen stock has since been recovered.

The latest arrests were made during the weeks beginning Monday 15 June and Monday 22 June, as part of the ongoing investigation.

They include four men from Wolverhampton, aged 37, 26, 25 and 23.

The 23 year old was arrested on suspicion of burglary other than a dwelling, theft. The 37 year old, 26 year old and 25 year old were each arrested on suspicion of burglary other than a dwelling with intent to steal.

Police said all four have been released under investigation.

A 21 year old man and a 25 year old man, both from Tipton, were also detained on suspicion of burglary other than a dwelling, theft. A 30 year old man from Bloxwich was arrested on suspicion of the same offence.

They each remain on conditional police bail.

A 29 year old man from Willenhall, who had previously been arrested on suspicion of burglary other than a dwelling with intent to steal, has been released under investigation.

A 37 year old man from Cannock, previously arrested on suspicion of burglary other than a dwelling with intent to steal, has been released with no further action to be taken.
