A replacement coach service will be in operation.

The line between Stafford, Crewe and Stoke-on-Trent will be closed from Good Friday (25th March) until Monday 28th March 2016. Trains between London Euston and Crewe will take a diversion between Rugeley Trent Valley and Stoke-on-Trent and will not stop at Stone or Stafford.

A rail replacement coach service will operate between Stafford, Stone and Stoke-on-Trent. In Stone, they will depart from Crown Street for journeys to Stoke-on-Trent and Granville Square for journeys to Stafford.

The works are part of Network Rail’s £250 million Stafford Area Improvements Programme, which will see the removal of the last remaining bottleneck that causes delays on the West Coast Main Line. The series of improvement works sees the replacement of timeworn signalling equipment, the construction of 11 bridges, a flyover and six miles of new railway.[/box]
