Pay for parking by mobile phone

Shoppers and visitors to Stone can now use their mobile phones to pay for parking on Stafford Borough Council’s car parks in the town.

Stafford Borough Council has rolled out the scheme on all its car parks across the borough following a successful pilot, including its Westbridge Park, Christchurch Way and Crown Street car parks in Stone.

The “pay by phone” system allows mobile phone and tablet computer users to pay their parking charge by credit or debit card. And it has the added benefit of allowing top-ups – which can help especially if people are running late. Reminders can also be sent to devices to let you know how much time you have left for parking.

To use the system you need to sign up at www.dashpark.co.uk or call 0845 6800104. Once registered you can pay for your parking by telephone call or text message.

Signs will be going up in car parks shortly with instructions on how to use the new system. The system will be available in all borough council-run locations apart from the short-stay Sainsbury’s car park off Doxey Road in Stafford which operates a shopper refund scheme.

  • But the phone call will cost more than the parking fee? how does that benefit the parking client?
