Police appeal after nine-year-old boy taken to hospital after collision in Yarnfield

A nine-year-old boy was taken to hospital following a collision involving a van on Yarnfield Lane in Yarnfield on Wednesday afternoon.

Two Staffordshire Police officers in uniform, one facing away wearing a vest marked "POLICE", and the other slightly out of focus in the background beside a patrol car.

Staffordshire Police said officers were called at 4.25pm on Wednesday 30 September following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a white Ford Transit van.

Officers attended alongside West Midlands Ambulance Service and Midlands Air Ambulance.

The nine-year-old boy was taken to hospital. Police said his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing at this time.

The driver of the van, a man, remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

Staffordshire Police are appealing for information as their enquiries into the collision continue.
