Stone post office in the High Street is having a refit ahead of it being a Costcutter convenience store.
The post office services will remain as usual but the front of the building will be transformed into a Costcutter store by new owners.
Today workers were hard at work at the post office removing the flooring. They were also working on the ceiling, with the tiles removed and electrics exposed.
The post office will be open as usual during the works, with the Costcutter store expected to be finished in the next week or 10 days.
The new owners also hope to sell alcohol from the Costcutter. An application should be going before Stafford Borough Council’s licensing sub-committee soon.
