Record-breaking results for Alleyne’s Academy

Alleyne’s Academy in Stone achieved record-breaking exam results at GCSE and A-level last year.

At GCSE level, a massive 87% of students achieved at least 5 A*-C; 71% achieved at least 5 A*-C including English and Maths, compared with 60% nationally. The data also shows that student progress is in line with national expectations for those with a similar starting point.

Results in the Sixth Form were also impressive, enabling 91% of Year 13 students to gain a place at a university of choice. Their results were in line with the expected performance for all students nationally, whether they gained academic or vocational qualifications at the school.

Comparison of the school’s performance to that of other schools in the county using the Department for Education’s website puts the school in a most favourable position.

The results were published by the Department for Education last week. You can see the full results for Alleyne’s, and all schools in Staffordshire, by clicking HERE

The school recently achieved academy status and is now known as Alleyne’s Academy.  The Academy is afforded greater autonomy in managing its own curriculum, finances and resources and Headteacher, Karen Lockett, is confident that the students of Stone and the surrounding areas will benefit hugely from the new academy status.
