Kings Avenue and Tunley Street will be closed on Easter Sunday as Network Rail continues its vegetation management works in the town.
A letter to residents says the closure will be in place between 8am and 5pm to allow three lime trees to be chopped back, although a sign on Kings Avenue has slightly different times (above).
The letter says: “To undertake these works we will be using chainsaws and chippers which might cause some disturbance. However, every effort is made to keep noise to a minimum and our staff are briefed on working responsibly in the local community.”
It adds that an ecological survey is carried out before work starts, with any protected species or nesting birds identified and “appropriate methods of working” put in place.
