Stone Town Centre and multi-award-winning butchers Griffins of Stone have teamed up with the Alice Charity to help make a difference this year as they donate Christmas hampers to those in need.
During the October half-term, Nick Griffin and his team at Griffin Butchers offered free meals to those in need, with no questions and no judgement. After an overwhelming response and donations, Griffins gave away 74 meals to local people who needed them.
When Nick came up with the idea to give away the free school meals he allocated himself a budget and now he’s looking to take the remaining budget, double it, and then convert it to a hamper giveaway.
Nick told A Little Bit of Stone:
“After the amazing and overwhelming donations and response to the free school meals we had some money left in the pot, £400.00 and I’ve decided to double this and team up with a local charity for a Christmas giveaway.
I’m pleased to say that we are teaming up with Alice Charity and we will be donating a minimum of 15 Christmas hampers to go to vulnerable families within our local community.”
The Alice Charity supports local disadvantaged and vulnerable families and Nick thought they’d be a great charity to partner with for their hamper giveaway.
Nick added:
“On behalf of Griffins of Stone, I just want to say a huge thank you to all of our lovely customers whose support means that can make a huge difference to these lovely families who need a little bit of extra help.”
