Stone Dominoes LFC

Stone Dominoes LFC prepared in style for this Sunday’s Women’s FA Cup encounter at Coventry in a high-scoring game against Atherstone.

Stone raced into a two-goal lead, with two from striker Hannah Perry, before Atherstone pulled one back. They responded in true form, though, and on 26 minutes it was Mollie Prime’s turn to find the back of the net. Hannah Perry bagged her hat-trick on the 34th minute to make it 4-1.

Atherstone were not lying down, though, and made it 4-2, before Mollie Prime netted her second of the game. But on the stroke of half-time Atherstone scored again. An entertaining, end-to-end first half if ever there was one!

In the second half, Kerry McCourt scored twice – including a lovely free kick from the edge of the box – to make it 7-3. Atherstone scored again before Stone’s final goal came from Lauren Ward.

There could have been even more Stone goals, with Mollie Prime denied her hat-trick, first by the crossbar and then by the referee, who blew for full-time as she was bearing down on goal in a one-on-one with the keeper, leaving last year’s top scorer furious.
