Members of the Stone Labour Party Women’s group braved freezing temperatures in February.
The Stone women’s group took part in The Big Sleep Out at the Stoke City FC Bet 365 Stadium in aid of The Macari Centre homeless shelter.
The event was organised by the Stoke City Community Trust and saw 178 people sleep out overnight. The event raised over £30,000 for this great cause.
Speaking on the issue, Women’s Officer Jacqueline Brown said:
“it was an incredible event to be part of and we were thrilled that our group raised £1,850 for such a worthy cause.
“It was a very small insight into the brutal reality of homelessness, a plight that we feel very strongly about as an organisation.”
