Stone Library is marking Green Libraries Month this May with a range of talks, activities and opportunities for adults, children and families to bring a little nature into their lives.

Canal and River Trust talk
Friday 8 May, 2.00pm – Free talk, booking essential
Join Malcolm Gray to explore how canals transformed the industry and economy of North Staffordshire. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided.

Stone Libraries Little Garden
Friday 1 May – Saturday 30 May
Pick up a free seed pack for vegetables, herbs or flowers to plant at home or in your garden. This is open to adults, children and families.
Sunflower planting
Saturday 9 May, 10.30am – £1 per child, booking essential
Plant a sunflower at the library and watch it grow. Share your photos with the library to show how high your sunflower reaches.
Stone Ramblers talks
Wellbeing Walks talk: Friday 15 May, 1.00pm – Free, booking essential
Informal talk: Friday 22 May, 1.00pm – Free, booking essential
Learn about local walking routes, volunteering opportunities and how outdoor activity can boost health and wellbeing.
Make a birdfeeder
Thursday 28 May, 10.30am – £1 per child, booking essential
Children will create a small birdfeeder to take home. Please wear older clothes as coconut oil will be used during the activity.
Nature-inspired story sessions
Friday 29 May & Saturday 30 May, 10.30am – Free drop-in
