Stone man charged with restaurant assault

A Stone man has been charged with ‘assault by beating’ following the disturbance at the Crown of India in Market Square on Tuesday night.

Monir Miah, aged 53, of Tilling Drive, has been bailed to appear before magistrates in Newcastle on 6th August.

A 28-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of public order offences has been released without charge.
