Stone pensioner publishes debut novel about One Small Town

One Small World - Tim WardIt was staring out of his window during the Covid lockdowns when Stone town centre resident Tim Ward noticed the curious behaviour of some of his neighbours.

Wondering what they were up to led to an idea that Tim developed into his first book, “One Small Town.” The small town of the title is a fictitious place, but is really Stone under another name.

The story tells of a young man, Andy Edge, who, after hearing of the death of his grandmother, inherits her elegant Victorian home and a fortune in cash. He converts the property into high-end flats, and tenants are found surprisingly quickly. As the rental payments arrive in to his bank account, Andy almost forgets the puzzling things which happened earlier:

  • Where had his grandmother’s car gone?
  • Who had removed pictures and antiques from her home?

But then events take a more sinister turn leaving Andy concerned about what his grandmother’s legacy really means.
