Stone retail businesses to re-open from Wednesday 2nd December as lockdown ends

As Stone emerges from Lockdown 2.0 on Wednesday, local shops have been hard at work preparing their Christmas windows and ensuring that visitors can return to a safe and secure shopping experience.

From Wednesday 2nd December Stone will move from lockdown 2.0 into Tier 3 which will mean that both essential and non-essential retail shops can re-open – along with personal care shops too.

Lockdown ends at 1 minute past midnight on the 2nd of December, and under Tier 3 restrictions Stone’s retail businesses can once again open their doors for walk-in trade. Unfortunately, the hospitality industry isn’t able to re-open for in-person eating and drinking so many of the High Street’s pubs, restaurants and cafes will remain closed – some will continue to offer collection and takeaway services.

Many of the Stone businesses have been readying their festive windows and this video showcases some of the Christmas themed windows. These in addition to the recently turned on Christmas lights makes the High Street feel very festive and a safe and secure environment to shop in.

Throughout the Covid crisis, local businesses have worked tirelessly to ensure a safe environment, whilst also adapting and changing to meet the latest sets of regulations. From click and collect to home delivery, Stone business owners have done whatever they can to ensure that they can still get their products out to their customers.

You can keep up to date with most of the local businesses via their own social media pages, websites and many are part of the Stone Is Where the Heart Is – Stone Traders Group.

We look forward to once again getting back out onto the High Street and to be able to pop in and say “hello!” to the many shop owners in the town.

Fingers crossed that from the 16th December Stone can move into a lower Covid tier to allow our renowned hospitality business to once again open their doors.
