A 14 year old Stone canoe slalom paddler has earned promotion to the Premiership, the highest level of domestic competition, after a successful season racing across the UK and internationally.

Nathan competes in both C1 canoe and K1 kayak and has enjoyed a particularly strong run of results in recent weeks.
He secured a C1 victory in Scotland before travelling to Wales, where he added two more C1 wins as well as a victory in K1.
Those results earned him promotion to the Premiership in C1.
Nathan’s family say the achievement makes him the youngest male Premiership C1 paddler in the country.
His season has also included international competition as part of the junior talent pathway for canoe slalom.
During the summer, Nathan represented Great Britain in the Czech Republic and Bratislava, racing against young paddlers from across Europe. His family say he finished within the top half of the international field.
Competing abroad has brought a different challenge alongside his domestic racing, with unfamiliar courses, international opposition and significant travel added to his usual training schedule.
Canoe slalom involves paddlers racing against the clock through a course of upstream and downstream gates, with Nathan competing in both canoe and kayak disciplines.

His family say a considerable amount of time goes into training and racing alongside school and everyday life.
With his Premiership place now secured, they are also hoping to hear from local businesses which may be interested in supporting Nathan as he continues to develop.
The costs of competitive canoe slalom can include equipment, coaching, race entries, travel and international competition.
Nathan will now be looking to build on his 2026 season as he moves into Premiership competition and continues racing at national and international level.
