A programme of road repairs and resurfacing around Stone town centre has been completed, Staffordshire County Council has confirmed.

The scheme began on Monday 13 July and covered several main routes, including Crown Street, Newcastle Street, Station Road, Granville Square, Christchurch Way and Radford Street.
Work included repairs to kerbs, pavements and drainage, alongside the installation of tactile crossing points to assist pedestrians.
The final resurfacing was carried out last week, bringing the programme to an end after more than three months of work.
The project was originally scheduled to finish by Friday 23 October, and the county council says it has been completed on schedule.
The work was carried out in stages, with initial repairs taking place during the summer before the overnight resurfacing programme began in September.
The scheme required temporary traffic lights and overnight road closures at various points, affecting motorists travelling around the town centre.
Patrick Allen, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Support Member for Highways, said
“Our project team has worked hard to complete the scheme on schedule, coordinating the start with the school summer holidays to minimise disruption as well as carrying out the recent overnight resurfacing.
“We do appreciate that any major scheme, particularly in town centres, will be disruptive, so we’d again like to thank people for their patience and understanding while work has taken place.”
