Stone’s Wandering Bee teams up with Moorcroft for new collection

A Stone business has teamed up with one of Staffordshire’s best known pottery names to create a new collection combining Moorcroft ceramics with scents made by The Wandering Bee.

Moorcroft first approached The Wandering Bee founder Beth Warren towards the end of last year about the possibility of working together. What began as an idea for a candle has since developed into Moorcroft Fragrance by The Wandering Bee, a wider collection bringing together the two businesses.

Beth said

“Moorcroft first approached us around Autumn/Winter last year about the possibility of creating something together, and from those initial conversations the collaboration has gradually developed into what is now Moorcroft Fragrance by The Wandering Bee.

“We began with the candle, bringing together the craftsmanship and heritage that Moorcroft is so well known for with our expertise in fragrance and candle making here at The Wandering Bee.

“From there, the idea grew into a wider fragrance collection, with each element designed to feel like a genuine meeting of the two brands rather than simply one sitting alongside the other.”

The ceramic design used for the collection is called Livia and was created by Moorcroft designer Nicola Slaney. Moorcroft’s Autumn 2026 range includes Livia candle jars, a diffuser, tea light, match pot and other pieces, with versions available containing The Wandering Bee fragrance wax or oil. Moorcroft says the design takes inspiration from William Moorcroft’s Macintyre period.

The collaboration has a particularly local connection, with both businesses based in Staffordshire and their products made within the county.

The Wandering Bee began in Staffordshire in early 2021, initially making candles around a kitchen table. The Wandering Bee ALBOS has followed the business as it has grown, including its move into its current High Street shop in 2024.

“For us, one of the things that makes the collaboration particularly special is that it brings together two Staffordshire businesses, each creating their products here in the county and each bringing something very different to the partnership.

“Moorcroft has such an incredible history of British pottery and craftsmanship, while we’ve spent the past five years building The Wandering Bee here in Stone and developing our own approach to fragrance. Seeing those two worlds come together has been a really special project for us.”

Moorcroft’s history can be traced back to 1897, when William Moorcroft joined James Macintyre & Co in Burslem. W. Moorcroft Ltd was established in 1913, with pottery continuing to be made at its Sandbach Road site in Burslem.

Beth added

“It’s also been lovely to see the response since we revealed the collaboration. As a Staffordshire business ourselves, being approached by such an established and internationally recognised Staffordshire name was a real pinch-me moment, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created together.”

The collection is available through The Wandering Bee’s flagship shop at 16A High Street in Stone. The shop is currently open from 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

Anyone interested in the collaboration or individual prices can contact The Wandering Bee directly by email or through its social media channels.
