Teenager caught trying to smuggle 200 pills into V Festival

A 17-year-old Stone teenager has been arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into V Festival.

The 200 tablets were discovered during a routine bag search at the entrance gate in a bag he was carrying into the event.

Police arrested the 17-year-old from Stone for possession with intent to supply and has been taken to Watling Police Station for questioning. In a separate incident, 28 MDMA pills were seized from another teenager. The 16-year-old boy was ejected from the event and referred to youth offending for rehabilitation.

Inspector Andrew Shackleton, onsite commander of the V Festival, said: “News like this proves that in partnership with the event’s security team we are very effectively preventing drugs coming onto site.

“If anyone thinks they can bring drugs onto site, remember your bag will be searched and our sniffer dogs will come and say hello too.”
