Putting people first and bringing people together has placed Walton Community Centre at the heart of the Stone Community, it’s one of the most successful community centres in Staffordshire and this month they’re holding an open day / mini pop up festival!

For many decades it has allowed groups to put on and develop small events & classes welcoming the people of Stone, young or old, to try a diverse range of affordable activities.

COVID has been a tough time for all and so they want to throw open the doors and welcome everyone back with open arms to a FREE:

‘We Are Back’
Open Day/Pop Up Mini Festival
Saturday 14th May
4pm to 8pm
…to remind the community what they’re about.

Featuring:

Live Music from the Old Bones Bar Band in the Chairmans Hall and a DJ hosting the event.
Sit and enjoy the music whilst having a draft or bottled beer from the pop-up bar provided by Izaak Walton Brewhouse.

Stroll over to the President’s Hall to find demonstrations showing what goes on throughout the week at Walton, not forgetting to stop at the Gin and Prosecco bar!

Wander outside and grab a bite to eat from the Greek ‘Travelling’ Taverner. Enjoy an ice-cream in the evening sun.

Have a free go on the Retro Magic Mirror Photo Booth provided by www.eventangels.org

Most of all come and look for opportunities to learn something new, and meet new friends.

Whether you’re a ‘beginner’ or an ‘expert’ there will be something for you. Come in your trainers and take part in some:
• Fitness classes
• U3A classes
• Dance classes
• Classes for children with a whole host of activities – dancing/drama/self-defence to name just a few.

Entry is FREE.
Go along for a fantastic time.

Parking for the Open Day is limited (as the centre will be utilising the car park for activities) please walk if you can.

Walton Community Centre is a charity and is always looking for volunteers to help with events so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
The centre is always open to new ideas for classes and groups.

During COVID 1000’s of people have moved to the area who are unaware of Walton Community Centre and so this would be a great opportunity to discover this multi-roomed hidden gem, or for those familiar, to pop in and reacquaint yourselves and to get involved again with the community.

See you on the dance floor!
