Residents in Stone are being urged to be cautious after reports of possible rogue traders in the area.
A Staffordshire Smart Alert notice said reports were received on Tuesday 5 May of people using a van with highways signage and offering to sell unused tarmac.

The alert advises anyone who is approached by doorstep sellers and feels unsure to politely refuse.
Suspicious activity can be reported to Staffordshire Police by calling 101 or online.
